8 DAY ADVENTURE BWINDI

Day 1: Travel Through Ugandan Tea Plantations
In the morning you will leave the capital city of Kampala for Fort Portal, a lovely town resting in the shadow of the fabled Mountains of the Moon, and famous for its tea plantations.

Enjoy a packed lunch as you pass the Crater Lakes region, before heading to Primate Lodge within the Kibale Forest National Park.

Day 2: Go Chimp Tracking in Kibale
Start the day with some sensational chimp tracking in the heart of the Kibale Forest.

The reserve has the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. Search for the wild chimpanzee, red-tailed monkey and the black and white colobus monkey on your guided nature walk.

After a hearty lunch, you will transfer to Bigodi to experience the Bigodi Wetland Walk, a local community innitiative. Be on the lookout for primates and the rare great blue turaco, one of the 138 bird species found in the swamp area.

Day 3: Walk through the Rwenzori Mountains
Today you will go on a guided walk in the foothills of the majestic Rwenzori mountains. Learn about the local culture on your walk, and enjoy a glimpse of village life when you meet with some of the community members, including a traditional witchdoctor.

As you transfer to the beautiful Queen Elizabeth National Park, remember to be on the lookout for warthog, elephant, buffalo and waterbuck.

Spend the following two nights at the Mweya Safari Lodge where you can relax on your private veranda and view some of the incredible birdlife.

Day 4: Cruise on the Kazinga Channel
Wake up early for an exciting morning game drive through the Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will head to the mating ground of the Uganda kob antelope.

Scout the bush for lion, elephant, buffalo and other game including the topi and bushpig, before returning for a relaxing leisurely lunch at camp.

In the afternoon you will enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, situated between Lake Edward and Lake George. Be entertained by the hippos lazing on the bank and be sure to search for elephants and buffalo along the shoreline.

Day 5: Search for Tree-Climbing Lions
After breakfast you will head to the south of the Queen Elizabeth National Park. This region is called Ishasha and is famous for its tree-climbing lions, an unusual characteristic among these big cats.

After a short game drive you will continue to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, passing traditional homesteads dotted on the hills of the countryside.

You will spend two nights at the Buhoma Lodge in Bwindi, where you will experience the rush of coming face to face with endangered mountain gorillas.

Day 6: Track Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi
This is truly the highlight of your safari. Trek through the dense rainforest of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in your quest to find the majestic mountain gorillas.

Expect to walk for a number of hours in often muddy and rainy conditions, but it will all be worthwhile when you suddenly come across a troop, their black bodies a stark contrast to the lush green landscape.

Spend time watching them play, eat and rest. When it is time to leave, you will be aware that you have had a unique and truly unforgettable experience.

Day 7: Return via Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast you will leave behind the dense forests of Bwindi and head back to Kampala.

When you pass through Lake Mburo National Park, be on the lookout for zebra, impala, and other plains game before you reach the Uganda equator.

With lunch en route, you will arrive in Entebbe in the evening where you will spend a night at the Libya Hotel.


Day 8: Fly Home with Unforgettable Memories.
Enriched with an experience of a lifetime and unforgettable memories, you will be transferred to Entebbe Airport after breakfast for your international departure flight.
